Siriwardene has do date led the Sri Lankan women in 34 One Day Internationals, but in only one in the last couple of years.

The Sri Lankan selectors have made two changes from the squad that played in the Women's Asia Cup T20s in China in late October, bringing in Oshadi Ranasinghe and Lasanthi Madushani for Maduri Samuddika and Inoka Galagedara.

A total of eight teams, split into two groups of four each, will compete in the latest edition of the premier international championship of women's One Day International cricket.

The hosts India, title holders England, Sri Lanka and West Indies have been placed in Group A while women from Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa constitute the other half.

The tournament kick starts on January 31 and will run till March 9, 2013. The curtain raiser will be played between former champions Australia and Pakistan at the Bandra Kurla Complex of Mumbai. Sri Lanka will begin their World Cup campaign against defending champions England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on February 2. The team is also scheduled to play two warm-ups ahead of the tournament. They will take on New Zealand in the first practice match at the Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai on January 28, before playing the South African women at the Middle Income Group Ground, Bandra, Mumbai, a day later.
