2nd ODI: West Indies look to arrest Aussie momentum

After pummelling West Indies in the first ODI at the WACA by nine wickets, Australia would be looking for a similar result in the second ODI also to be played at Perth on Sunday before their first batch of players
leave for India for tour preparations.

On the other hand, West Indies, who were bundled out for a paltry 70 on a lively pitch, would be looking for a much better batting performance in order to put up any fight against the hosts. Moreover their first priority might as well be to play out the 50 overs if they bat first again.
Speaking after the embarrassing defeat, Sammy had said he was confident his team could recover with four matches still to be played. "They came hard at us and we have to come back even harder," said Sammy. "We have to bounce back and it is just the first game of a five-match series. It is just a one-off game. We will come back on Sunday and look to execute better."The Aussie pace battery led by Mitchell Starc were effective and chances of including spin in the form of Xavier Dorhety looks very unlikely with part-timer Glenn Maxwell already in the team.
The 24-year-old Victorian who made light work of the small chase of 70 by scoring a quick-fire unbeaten 51 feels that the West Indies cannot be taken lightly and with players like Chris Gayle in the team, they still are a dangerous proposition.

"We were talking about it straight after the game, that any day (Chris) Gayle can turn it on and score 200 in a one-dayer and, all of a sudden, we are chasing 370 or 380," Maxwell said. "They can flick it on and off like a switch. They're a very dangerous side."
However, the visitors would be hoping that allrounder Andre Russell to be fit to play after he missed the opener due to a knee injury. The onus will also be on the middle-order comprising of talented Bravo brothers and the comeback man Ramnaresh Sarwan who was out for a duck in the first ODI.
The WACA strip on a hot day will assist the pacers once again and Russell's inclusion will bolster the visitors' bowling line-up comprising of Kemar Roach and rookie Jason Holder, who put up a decent show on Friday.
