Broad hat-trick helps England start tour with a win

England captain Stuart Broad bagged a hat-trick as his touring side made light work of a New Zealand invitational line-up in a Twenty20 warm-up match in Whangarei this afternoon.

Chasing England's 186 and requiring 51 runs off the last two overs, Broad killed any hopes of an unlikely
New Zealand victory as he took three wickets in a row in a maiden in the 19th over of the innings.
Jade Dernbach finished the game with the wicket of Michael Bates in the final over, completing New Zealand's capitulation as they lost their final five wickets for just four runs.Auckland batsman Colin Munro was the shining light in the New Zealand batting order, blasting 55 from 32 deliveries to keep them in the game before being dismissed by Dernbach.

Earlier Jos Buttler set up England's big total at Cobham Oval as he smashed 57 from 24. He was ably supported by Eoin Morgan (48 from 32) and Luke Wright (44 from 32).
A second T20 tour match is scheduled to be played at the same venue on Wednesday.
