Playing Mitchell Starc difficult but not impossible, says Darren Sammy

West Indies captain Darren Sammy has said that West Indies are unlikely to tinker with their top order despite being on the receiving end facing Mitchell Starc. The Australian pacer has taken 10 wickets in the
two one-dayers so far. "He [Starc] is bowling well at the moment but he's not unplayable," said Sammy on Tuesday.

The visitors are already two down in the five-match ODI series, with two crushing defeats in Perth. Their batsmen found it hard to tackle the pace and swing of Starc, who has taken seven of the eight wickets that West Indies lost in the first ten overs in the first two ODIs.

Sammy also backed the off-colour Chris Gayle who has just managed eight runs in the first two matches, saying the big-hitting left-hander will come back strongly in Thursday's game in Canberra. "Chris is his own man. He is the coolest fella I know of," Sammy said. "Whether he's happy or sad or smiley, whatever, you can't tell. He's got one mood and that's the cool guy we know."Apart from Gayle, Darren Bravo and Ramnaresh Sarwan too looked out of form. While the junior Bravo scored just 14 and 11, Sarwan got two ducks in his return to the side.

"He'll back his ability and know his team-mates support him throughout whatever he's going through and hopefully he could come out tomorrow in that historical match by doing something historic for us."
Having played a practice match against the Prime Minister's XI just a week before at the Manuka Oval, West Indies might know a thing or two more than Australia, who will play their first-ever match at the venue. "The wicket is very good," Sammy said. "I guess it was a very good outing and we expect the same tomorrow. From now on every game is a final for us, and we've got to play it like that. History is in the making and we love being a part of history," he added.
